Everyone knows what Intuition is, but not many people can give you a definition of what it is. Simply put it’s a “gut - feeling”
It’s something you just know.
Intuition is actually a kind of instinctive intelligence that a lot of people ignore, diminish, overanalyze, or over-complicate. The reality is you are actually tapping into something beyond your five senses. You’re tapping into a kind of sixth sense. Sometimes, it might be a better idea to listen to that sixth sense. KEEP IT SIMPLE BECAUSE, MOST OF THE TIME, THAT’S GOING TO BE THE CORRECT ANSWER.
While we say that Intuition is the sixth sense, the reality is that it’s tied to our Chakras. What is Chakra? Chakra refers to energy points in our body. They are believed to be a kind of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to nerves, organs, and areas of our energetic bodies that affect our emotional and physical well-being. There are 7 areas of Chakra associated with our body but Intuition can be tied to our 3rd Chakra, the Solar Plexus Chakra, and our 6th Chakra, the Third Eye/Brow Chakra.
Our Solar Plexus Chakra is kind of like the sun to our own personal solar system. It is also known as our Power Chakra. Its element is fire and is associated with the energy needed to advance forward. It relates to intuition because this chakra deals with emotional reactions and feelings. When we act on our Intuition it is those these emotions that play a large role in our actions. The other Chakra that Intuition is related to is our 6th Chakra. This Chakra is at the center of our intuition because it relates to our use of intellect and reasoning. The “third eye” is a symbol used to perceive the more subtle qualities of reality. It goes beyond the five senses and feels out the more subtle energies of the universe.
In today’s society, it can be hard to believe in something that can be seen as abstract like the Chakras and Intuition. Researchers have performed studies on these practices in the past. In 2004 the Institute of Heartmath monitored brain and heart activity based on pleasant and unpleasant pictures shown to subjects.
These studies found that the subjects seemed to have an intuitive knowledge of the outcome of an event, especially when the outcome was negative. A 2006 study by the Institute of Noetic Sciences found similar results with their subjects.
How can we take advantage of our Intuitive abilities? Like everything else in this world, it takes practice and concentration. But you don’t have to embark on these journeys alone. Doing so can lead you down the wrong path, it is always better to have someone guide you on your journey.
Where will your Intuition lead you next? Hopefully, it’s on a journey that we can all enjoy together at Mending Hands. Make sure to reserve your spot for our next Intuitive Journey Workshop!
