Reiki is a Japanese healing technique known for relaxation and stress relief. It is based on an idea of the unseen “life force energy” that flows through the human body and is administered by the laying of hands. If the “life force energy” in the body is low, one is likely to fall sick or feel stressed, and when the force is high, one is healthy and happy.
The treatment gives a glowing radiance that flows around and through the body. Can I treat myself?
Yes, once you undertake Reiki classes, you can treat yourself as well as others. This is one of the unique features of Reiki healing.
Can Reiki be sent over distance?
Yes, when learning the second Level-Ryoho Reiki, the student is given three symbols. One of the symbols is used in distance healing thus allowing the practitioner to send Reiki regardless of where the client is located. The distance does not matter, and the Reiki energy will heal them.
How does it feel when giving treatment?
When treating a client, the Reiki energy flows from the practitioner through the hands and into the client. Through the process, the practitioner also gets treatment as the energy flows through their body they become more relaxed and spiritual experiences may occur. The practitioner may get insights regarding what the client needs for deeper healing.
How long does it take to learn Reiki?
A beginners Reiki class can be covered in a single day. Students learn how to offer treatment and will practice this in class. Students also receive something called an attunement.
What is attunement?
This is a process that a person acquires the ability to give Reiki treatments. The attunement is given by the Reiki Master during Reiki classes. During the attunement, the master touches the student’s hands, head, and shoulders, then using certain methods will pass on his/her techniques into the student.
How many Reiki levels are there?
There are three Reiki levels in the Usui system; these are level one, level two, and level three or master/practitioner level.
How safe is Reiki treatment?
Reiki is a natural, simple, and safe treatment for self-improvement and spiritual healing that can be used by anyone. Reiki has over the years been used in treating every known malady and illness resulting in a beneficial effect.
Is Reiki a religion?
Reiki is spiritual in nature but is not a religion. There is no dogma for Reiki, and you don’t have to believe in anything to receive this healing.
